Scrap Battery Recycling Program
Did you know that over 95% of a lead acid batteries is recyclable?
To support and protect our environment, we're committed to partnering with our customers and support them to simply and easily recycle batteries. Customers return one scrap battery for every battery sold and these are collected when our delivery team drop off a new battery order. All our scrap batteries are collected and transported to DGL battery recycling plants in Woolongong and Laverton for processing. These batteries are smeltered to produce new raw materials which are then exported to manufacturers to create new batteries.
Our goal is to return the maximum amount of raw materials back into the manufacturing process as possible and to date our program has been tremendously successful. Our return rate is 95% and we recycle 7,500 tonnes of batteries every single year.
